Almost every week one gets to read about some company acquiring the other. Guess there is industry-wide consensus that the only/sure way to grow after a certain point is inorganic. For enterprises that is.
Let’s extend this concept to salaried individuals. If I am an enterprise selling my services while doing a job, then how do I define organic/inorganic growth. Possibly, organic growth is rising the ladders/making more money in the same organization. While inorganic growth could be finding a new employer who would pay you better/give a meatier position.
If there is nothing wrong with inorganic growth with enterprises, then why with salaried individuals! Rolling stones gather no moss. Is ‘moss’ skills/money, or is it literally ‘that’! Just a thought…
